Google Chrome - New Open Source Web Browser
Google officially confirmed its new open source web browser named Google Chrome, which is expected to release today.
Its not surprising that Google has decided to announce its release by publishing a comic book discussing about the features of the new Google Chrome.
According to Google Blogoscoped:
The browser has an address bar with auto-completion features, called ’omnibox’, Google says it offers search suggestions, top pages you’ve visited, pages you didn’t visit but which are popular and much more.
Like the classic Google homepage, Google Chrome is clean and fast. It gets out of your way and gets you where you want to go.
The added advantage with Google Chrome is that the whole process of distribution will spread over massive scale and might just provide a boost that any new browser would dream to have.
Apart from this, it will also have some of the following features:
- A speed Dial feature at homepage, similar to Opera
- Tabs that run as separate processes, ensuring better security and more stability
- Ability to open its own browser window without address bar
- Protection against malicious files/programs
- V8 Java Virtual Machine included
