MeGlobe Builds a Lingual Bridge for IM Users

In one of my previous posts in which I blogged about the TBot – An instant translating agent for WLM (Window Live Messenger) that lets you translate across several different languages world wide.

Several of my readers asked if there were another such translating agents, that are WLM independent. Just like MSN, Meglobe applies real-time  language translation to Instant Messaging.

However Meglobes solution does not require any bots nor any special software to download or install, the process is completely transparent to the user.

Also, Meglobe utilizes proprietary technology to allow users to make contributions to the translations which are then used to teach MeGlobe to become a better translator. This is a key difference between MeGlobe and other similar solutions.

It is free, and in addition to its support for Spanish, Italian, Portuguese, German, Japanese, Russian, Dutch (Netherlands), Greek, Korean, Arabic, Swedish, Chinese Traditional and Chinese Simplified,

The only drawback that I found was that you have to make a separate account in order to start interacting with your foreign friends. In the future, I’d like to see MeGlobe tap into existing IM networks instead of requiring you to plug into its own.

Good find! I tried it out and thought it was great. I got to talk to someone from Spain while I was checking it out. Pretty cool.
