Firefox 3.1 Beta 1 Available for Download
FireFox has released its first beta of Firefox 3.1 codename Shiretoko, out for public. The good news is that it is aimed at developers and testers, and has quite a few changes and interesting updates.
A lot of bugs and errors that were in alpha release of Shiretoko have been fixed in this one.
According to Mozilla, it features quite a few changes that need to be pointed out including:
- Geode extension is required for location awareness.
- Added support for CSS 2.1 and CSS 3 properties
- Tab switch now has 3D preview function.
- Javascript performance has been improved.
- Improved control over the Smart Location Bar using special characters to restrict your search
