JDownloader – Rapidshare Download Manager
Remember the last time we covered a download manager named Raptor that helps you in downloading large Rapidshare files without any interruption. However we have found some more download managers that we will keep on sharing with you from time to time.
Today, we will share with you another popular Rapidshare download manager, similar to Raptor which is basically an open source, platform independent and written completely in Java. The name of this download manager is JDownloader.
JDownloader offers the following features:
- Download in multiple parallel streams,
- CAPTCHA recognition,
- Free of charge,
- Link encryption sites are supported,
- Import CCF, RSDF and the new DLC files,
- Automatic file extraction and much more.
The bad part about JDownloader is that it comes with German language by default. Although you can change this language to English, nonetheless you will find some German words scattered around. In case you want to change this to English language, this is what you will do:
- Click the Extra button,
- Select Konfiguration,
- Select the Benutzeroberfläche tab,
- Under Sprache, select English,
- Hit the Speichern und neu starten button to save and restart in English.
Another thing that you should probably note is that before you can download any files you will have to accept the terms of service for each site you want to download files from. To do this, follow the procedure mentioned below:
- Click the Extra button,
- Select Configuration,
- Select the Hosts tab,
- Check the boxes next to any file hosting service you expect to use.
Now you are good to go. Simply click the Add Links button and add links to any files you want to download, then click the Start button to begin downloading.
Note: JDownloader needs Java to run, so you should check the version that you’re running here.
