GMDesk | Run Google Web Apps into a Single Desktop Application

It always surprised me that Google has a few desktop applications (Google Desktop Search, Google Talk, Picasa etc.), but for one reason or the other they don’t have any programs that leverage some of their other big services. Having a program for Gmail, Google Calendar, Google Docs, and several others would all make a lot of sense in my book.

GMDesk separates Gmail, Google Reader, Google Calendar, Google Docs, and Google Maps from the rest of your web browsing, and provides keyboard shortcuts to switch between them (Ctrl+ or Cmd+1 through 6).

GMDesk is an application that lets you run Gmail, Google Docs, Google Calendar and Google Maps as a stand-alone application to do all your mail handling, calendar event reading etc with. No need to open it up in a web browser, or have it clutter your workspace.

GMDesk offers an easy menu as well as keyboard shortcuts to switch between different Google services, and you can specify what default service you want the application to start with. It also supports Google Apps access as well. GMDesk is a free download and requires Adobe AIR to run.
