Speed.io shows Broadband Speed Tests with Elegance

Are you paying your Internet Service Provider (ISP) a crap load of service charges and still not getting the speed as promised by your ISP? You try to make contact with your ISP and tell them that you are not getting the complete bandwidth as advertised, and instead your ISP claims that they are sending you full bandwidth.

So how do you prove their claim is false? Simply hover to Speed.io – a flash based tool where you can easily measure the Internet broadband speed. Although there are tons of services which offer broadband speed test online for free, but Speed.io stands out from the crowd. The reason for being so unique lies in it easy to use, elegant interface thus giving you complete and comprehensive results. The Download and Upload speed test(s) are measured and shown in KBits/sec. In addition to this it also displays the number of connections plus the ping or response time of the connection.

Not only that, it divides your results and scale them from bad to excellent, giving you the exact idea about the speed that your ISP is sending you. It will also display the name of your Internet service provider, your IP address and browser details. You can even save your tests online for free, but you will have to register first.

That’s right, above is what I am getting from my ISP. As you can see the overall quality of my internet connection is “Less Good” which is rather shocking for me as my ISP claims to provide the best service in my locality.

Are you getting the right speed as claimed by your ISP or do you feel cheated of not getting the desired results as you expected? I would love to see your views and comments about this service.

I was actually quite pleased with my results!

    ISP: qwest.net
    Download: 2060 Kbit/s
    Upload : 857 kbit/s
    Connects : 1348 conn/min
    Ping: 46 ms

I like to use these services from time to time, just to be sure our ISP doesn’t try anything funny, like Comcast or Verizon.

Awesome! Astonishing results of your ISP. I wish I had such a high speed broadband connection. Alas!
