How To Create A Windows Vista Password Reset Disk
How many times have you forgotten your Windows Vista account password? If you forget your passwords more than often then I would advice you to create a password reset disk that will come quite handy in case you lost/forget your password.
You will find a variety of ways to reset Windows Vista password, but most of them are complicated and time consuming. However, I highly recommend that you create a password reset disk which is not only easy to create, but also simple to implement.
Creating Password Reset Disk
1. Log-in to Windows Vista, Click on Start and then Control Panel
2. Click on the User Accounts and Family Safety link
3. From the control panel, select User Accounts
4. Select Create a password reset disk link from the task pane on the left

5. A Forgotten Password Wizard window will pop up on your screen, hit Next.
6. You will then have to provide a portable media before being able to create a password reset disk. Insert the disk, either floppy or flash drive to to create a password reset disk on. Click Next to continue.

7. In the text box enter your current account password.
8. Windows Vista will now create the password reset disk on your chosen media.
9. Once the process is completed, you can now remove the flash drive or floppy disk from your computer. Label the disk Password Reset and store it in a safe place.
You have successfully created a password reset disk. Now how do you implement it in case you have lost your password?
Use Password Reset Disk
Insert the same USB Drive that you used while creating a password disk and boot Windows Vista normally, at the login prompt click Reset Password and click Next at the Reset Password Wizard. Follow the instructions, enter your new password. You may wish to set a ‘Hint‘ accordingly.
