As we welcome in 2011 we should remember that it’s always good to update your marketing efforts. Naturally a ton of marketing is performed online. With the success of pay per click campaigns, social marketing, and top SERP rankings a company can reach a ton of new prospects. One thing which shouldn’t be neglected is your print marketing campaign.
Print campaigns include a variety of materials such as printed postcards, brochures, posters, and flyers. Even business cards are part of the marketing effort. Below are a few tips you can use to freshen up your print marketing efforts for 2011.
- Come Up With Fresh Designs – Just like with clothing, graphic design styles change. A cutting edge business can’t successfully use the same designs which were popular fifteen years ago. Start by looking at your color scheme, is it outdated? If so, consider checking out a variety of color palettes which may help to represent your company in a positive manner. Next consult with a graphic designer who can guide you through the process. Or if you are a designer yourself you can view any number of design galleries to see some of the hot new looks other designers are using.
- if you’ve never marketed your business with print materials, think about your target audience. How will you be able to reach them? Will you be handing out brochures at a trade show? Will you need to mail a postcard directly to their home or business? Or perhaps you can place flyers or posters around town to attract attention. Consider where your customers are and how you will reach them.
- Think through your messaging. What is the goal of your marketing materials? You can try to educate your potential customers, you can inform them of a sale, or you can just try to create brand awareness. It’s important to think through what you want to communicate to your potential customers. A well thought out message will help guide them through the decision making process.
