Apple Officially Unveiled Details about iPhone OS 3.0 Software

As scheduled, Apple finally unveiled its iPhone OS 3.0 software with loads of new features and several improvements that should have been made a long time ago. But as the saying goes, better late than never. The new update has come up with several new features that the iPhone fans have long awaited.

The iPhone OS 3.0 beta release includes an updated Software Development Kit (SDK) with over 1,000 new Application Programming Interfaces (APIs) including In-App Purchases; Peer-to-Peer connections; an app interface for accessories; access to the iPod(R) music library; a new Maps API and Push Notifications.

Apple to Preview iPhone OS 3 Details Coming March 17th

iphone-3gYes, you heard it; in the upcoming week, Apple is planning for holding an event for iPhone 3.0 OS dated March 17th. Many rumors are floating all over the web as to what will be included in the update.

Although, no one is dead sure and awaits desperately for March 17th to arrive, still there are some expected or partially confirmed features that will be available in iPhone 3.0 OS, for instance there are rumors that it will have MMS (Multimedia Support), a shared Sandbox which builds a shared data area that apps can drop “public” files into, better power management, enhanced home screen customization.

Apple Safari Beta 4 for Windows and Mac

This version includes the new Nitro engine for rendering Web pages, making it highly efficient and super fast when it comes to loading pages, no wonder why the company claims it to be the fastest browser ever developed.

In addition for being the fastest browser in the world, Apple also claims that it renders JavaScript at an astonishing speed, when compared with Microsoft Internet Explorer and Firefox, it renders pages 30 times faster than Microsoft’s Internet Explorer 7 and three times faster than Mozilla’s Firefox 3.
