No worries as the new Firefox extension called Unofficial Rapidshare tool will handle all these troubles related to validity and copying of Rapidshare links automatically.

Apart from copying Rapidshare links to Clipboard, Text File, HTML and XML formats, this firefox extension will also check validity of the links automatically with fully customizable color coding options to distinguish working and non-working Rapidshare links on a web page.

This tool works in both ways, you can configure to check links found on page (multiple pages with frames and text areas, invalid h**p, hxxp, hyyp and redirected links), automatically or manually. Highlight links with custom color and copy or save as text, html or xml file. Integrated advanced and simple RapidShare account detection.

If you are a frequent user of Rapidshare and face difficulty working around or finding files, you may take a look at some of the tools already mentioned , here, here and here. Today, we will share with you yet another excellent Rapidshare tool that will move you one step closer to Rapidshare. RSFind is a very useful Firefox add-on that grabs links from sites like Rapidshare and/or Magaupload.

RSFind will help you to scan a web page for links, which you can then manage to copy/paste or open that link. Reference the screen-shot, shown below:

With RSFind you can copy all the links or select them according to your choice or demand to the clipboard for using with your favorite downloader like Rapidshare Plus, Raptor, JDownloader and RapGet. You can even open them in new tabs. This becomes very handy when links are not clickable or scattered around.

This is just a quick post for all those torrent freaks out there. Yesterday we stumbled upon a few Firefox extensions that we would like to share with you.

The first extension is called the Torrent Finder; which is basically a toolbar on Firefox; the other one is called TorrentBar and next up is Firetorrent. We will discuss each one briefly.

Torrent Finder Toolbar

Torrent Finder Toolbar is a torrent search toolbar for Firefox, which enables users to search over 180 top torrent sites and trackers from their Firefox browser.

It allows users to search a single site, search all sites on one page, or open the sites in Firefox tabs. A lot of accessible tools have been added to the Toolbar to make it easy to find your torrent like ‘keyword highlighter‘, ‘select toggle‘ to toggle between search engines by category, and ‘toggle by first letter‘ to easily find the search engine you need.

TorrentBar

BitTorrent File Search Toolbar for Firefox. Allows to search numerous sites in a matter of minutes for needed torrent files. If you prefer to be anonymous and use software done by users instead of 3rd party companies that spy on you and log your search habits, then this toolbar is perfect for you.

Firetorrent

This Firefox extension lets you download BitTorrent files with a single click. Version 1.0 has been built from scratch and is based on the popular libtorrent library, resulting in amazing performance. The addon is currently in alpha testing but is fully functional.

Which Firefox add-on for Torrents have you tried or like the most? Share your views in the comment section below.

Web developers from around the globe need to take extra caution when designing web sites. As already discussed, the main problem faced by designers is while working with CSS (Cascading Style Sheet). Miraculously there are a few tools available, such as CSS Selector shell that enables you to see how your CSS code looks in different browsers.

In order to further increase your productivity while designing a website, you should consider using a Firefox extension IE Tab, which lets you switch back and forth between firefox and IE with out having you to open the two browsers separately.

With this handy tool you can see how your website looks in IE by opening it inside Firefox’s tab. By clicking your right mouse button on any link you wish to see in IE, scroll over ‘Open Link in IE Tab‘ and that page will open inside Firefox, but on a new tab.

You also have the leverage to set your own preferences by opening the IE Tab Option menu. My personal opinion about this tool is that it will save a lot of your precious time and resources while developing a web page. It’s compatible with Firefox 3.0 and above.

Last time we shared 11 proxy add-on for secure surfing using Firefox in Windows. This time we will teach you how to surf anonymously with Firefox on Mac OS X.

Before we begin, Download the NeoTunnel DMG file , install it onto your system. Once the NeoTunnel is installed and initiated, the secure tunnel will be automatically restarted whenever you restart your computer.

Now follow the instructions given below:

1. You will have to configure Firefox to use the proxy, in order to do this select Firefox -> Preferences from the Firefox main menu, “General” icon, and then on the “Connection Settings” button.

2. The window which appears, enable “Manual proxy configuration” and “Use the same proxy for all protocols“. In the “HTTP Proxy” field, type in “127.0.0.1″ (without quotes), and in the “Port:” field type in “8080″ (without quotes).

3. If you would like to view some sites directly and not through the proxy, list them (separated by commas) in the “No Proxy for:” field.

NOTE: Do not forget to list neomailbox.net, neomailbox.nl, www.neomailbox.net, and www.neomailbox.nl in the “No Proxy for:” field, as the NeoTunnel proxy does not proxy requests for the Neomailbox Netherlands site itself. If you don’t list these domains here, you won’t be able to view the Neomailbox Netherlands site once the tunnel is activated.

4. Click “OK” and then “OK” again on the main preferences window.

Now all your web requests from Firefox will go through our SSL secured anonymous surfing proxy and the results will be returned to you via the SSL secured channel.

Enjoy!

I know that you all would agree with me if I say that it is very helpful if the text is read aloud, especially for those who can’t see and sometimes when you are so tired that you don’t want to look at your monitor screen to read some lengthy article.

FireFox 2 had a very useful and popular add-on called SpeakIt, the bad news was that after the release of firefox 3 this add-on became incompatible with the latest version that disappointed many people.

Recently, a very clever person changed the compatibility of SpeakIt and made it available for FireFox 3 as well. What this nifty FireFox extension does is that it utilizes text to speech capabilities of the operating system to provide the means to read out text aloud to the user.

It integrates itself nicely in the right-click context menu and can be used to read out all of the text on a website or only the selected text. Additional features have also been added that include rate of reading and volume adjustment, besides that you can change the text to speech engine if more than one engine is installed on the computer system.

Try SpeakIt

If you are looking for ways to view images by zooming deep into them, or just want to drag them across your monitor screen, or you want to choose a different background for your image, then ImageTweak which is basically a FireFox add-on will help you achieve exactly that.

ImageTweak shows images centered in the window, against a neutral gray background and allows to freely zoom and move the image, much like any decent image viewer. You are also given the option to select the Background Color, Zoom Factor, and other features from the option menu.

According to Carlo Alberto Ferraris, the developer behind this plugin,

ImageTweak started as a small enhancement to allow viewing images in an acceptable way, but has now become an image viewer with dragging and zooming.
Right-click (or arrow keys) to scroll, ctrl+scroll the mouse wheel (or +/-) to zoom, double-right-click (or space-bar) to cycle through full-view, 1:1-view and free-view.

ImageTweak is a nifty plugin, that will help you view images in a great exciting manner.

Here is a very nice add-on that will enable you to keep track of the time you spend while browsing. With TimeTracker you can track browsing time across sussing and pauses automatically when you stop browsing.

Feature in TimeTracker include

Tool tip displays total time for a particular day, since last reset and since installing

List ‘work’ sites that should not count

Tracks browsing time across sessions

Pauses automatically when you stop browsing

Reset counter

Pause toggle per window

I personally think that it’s a very nifty kind of a add-on, that will always prevent you from getting carried away on the web. I have already applied to my FireFox browser. Have you?

FireFox is the world’s best and widely used browser and the reasons for being No.1 on the list are countless. Among several reasons, one is that it automatically scans downloaded files before transferring it onto your system.

Despite its benifits for protecting your PC from certain viruses, it makes systems with low processing power even more slower.

FireFox gives you the leverage to safely turn off this option, in case you have a strong anti-virus installed onto your system. In order to disable this feature, follow the instructions mentioned below:

Type about:config in address bar and press Enter.

Press “I will be careful, I promise!” button (shown in the screen-shot above). Now in the filter bar type the following,

browser.download.manager.scanWhenDone

A Boolean value set as true by default, will be displayed as can be seen in the screenshot below.

Change the value to false, by double clicking on the entry. Voila!

Firefox is one of the widely used browser all over the world. Due to its high security and flexibility, people prefer to use it. But there is always some room for further improvements and tuning.

One option to further enhance the performance of firefox is by manually changing the values in “about:config“; (type it in the address bar, without quotes). Newbie’s will find it really hard to tweak this way.

Another useful alternative, that I found to optimize firefox is using FireTune – a freeware that enable you to optimize several internal settings of firefox for better performance.

Since the process is fully automated, you don’t have to regret of not knowing the “geeky” stuff. Select from the available options that suits your requirement and FireTune accordingly.

The simple way to tell whether Firefox is faster after optimizing is to follow these instructions.

Clear the cache of Firefox from the Firefox settings dialog – this is very crucial!

Before you optimize Firefox, navigate to http://www.numion.com/stopwatch/and do a speed test on http://www.mozilla.org/products/firefox/

The time needed to load the site completely will be displayed to you in the browser window. Write down the time

Clear the cache of Firefox from the Firefox settings dialog again – this is also very crucial!

Now, close Firefox, and optimize it with FireTune

Start Firefox again, and repeat the speed test on http://www.mozilla.org/products/firefox/

Compare the displayed result with the result from the test before the optimization

It is based on a collection of popular and well working optimization settings used and tested by the experts and has been download 2.5 million times, and includes everything to tweak firefox.

Please note that it DOES NOT modify/change firefox’s executable file, or any other binary file that firefox may be using. Feel secured while using it. Mozilla Firefox v1.x, 2.x and 3.x are fully supported by FireTune.

Download FireTune v1.2 Here
