One can easily import and export bookmarks from various browsers. This procedure, though fast and simple, is usually time consuming specially when you work with many browsers quite regularly.

The solution to this difficulty is Xmarks. This tool provides bookmarks synchronization along different browsers. You’ll be able to sync all your bookmarks across Firefox, Internet Explorer, Google Chrome and Safari. Xmarks stores the bookmarks inside the user account and these stored bookmarks are synchronized across browsers.

Bookmark synchronization implies if you have made a change in bookmarks on any one of browsers then that will appear on another browser too in case you use the tool to sync it.

To sync your bookmarks among different browsers you have to install Xmarks extension in all of the browsers you work with. Xmarks gives add-ons for Firefox, Chrome, Internet Explorer and Safari.

Within your Firefox browser head to Tools> Addons > Get Addons. Look for Xmarks, set it up and restart your browser. You may well directly visit the Xmarks add-on page and set it up from there.

Just after restarting Firefox Go to tools> Xmarks option. Select Next button and it will lead you to Sign up page. Select “Create an account for me” option and then click Next button .
Now register with Xmarks by filling up username, email address, password field and just click Next button.
The most beneficial feature of Xmarks is that it even offers password synchronization. It is possible to enable secure password sync by selecting “Yes” option. Click on Next button.

Now type in the Pin number you have got during registration. For guaranteeing security don’t reveal this Pin number to anyone.

Choose the way you intend to handle the previous data of server and your computer. You may merge data on the server with data on your computer if you need your old bookmarks and passwords in your current computer.
Your computer data (bookmarks and Password) starts syncing. All the data on server will show up on your pc and vice versa. You’ll receive notification of successful synchronization of bookmarks and password.
XMarks extension is available for Google Chrome(Beta Version), Internet Explorer and Safari Browser. You can simply sync all your bookmarks on each of the four browsers. The standard steps for syncing bookmark is similar for all the browsers.

As a Chrome user you can install Chrome extension in beta version of Chrome.

You can see all your bookmarks by logging into Xmarks website. Also you can view and delete bookmarks, share these bookmarks together with other users through email.

Visit Xmarks and set up the corresponding extension for your browser.

Rapidshare is one of the most popular file hosting service on this planet, closely followed by MegaUpload and many others. Despite their popularity one of the most annoying thing in all of these file hosting sites is their time delay feature and if you happen to be a free account holder you will have to wait several seconds, usually 30-40 secs before downloading can begin. Only premium account holders have the leverage to bypass this delay time with ease.

Despite the odds if you still want to avoid the delay time, we have just the solution for you. Download Skipscreen – a firefox add-on that will enable you to download files directly without having to wait for the counter to strike zero. It can prove extremely useful in cases where you are busy and want to get the job done in time. Its a real time saver for users who own free accounts on Rapidshare, MegaUpload, etc.

Simply hover to this link, download and install the add-on. Once its installed don’t forget to restart your browser for changes to take effect. Enjoy delay free downloads!

If you are doing some thing personal over the internet and want no one to be aware of or in case some one tries to peek on what you are doing. You should get Panic – a Firefox add-on, installed on your system, in order to prevent your self from embarrassing situations in front of others. Panic is an excellent Firefox add-on that it designed for these occasions.

Consider that you are in your office and you see your boss approaching towards your desk, with just a press of a keyboard shortcut, you can hide your activity, thus giving your boss an impression that you weren’t wasting your time in the office.

Even better is that you can set Panic to replace all open tabs with a single work-related website like your company’s intranet homepage or any other web page. This way your boss or any of your office colleagues will never know what your were doing! Nifty huh?

Have you ever thought how useful add-ons or plug-ins are? They can simplify a lot of your work and all you have to do is to download them on to your system. There are over tons of Firefox add-ons that helps you in every way possible; for instance you can find add-ons for torrents, etc etc.

Usually, when ever you download your files to your computer, you are prompted to save your files to a desired location each time you click on the download link.

This can become very tedious as you will have to sort all the files manually and if the number of downloaded files is very large you will have to face difficulty locating and rearranging them. This is where you should give Automatic Save Folder a try.

As the name implies Automatic save folder is a Firefox add-on that will automatically save all your downloaded files to your desired locations that you have set, based on the type of file that you have downloaded.

For instance; if you were to download any .exe files, you will make a separate folder named ‘Applications’ etc and that file will be saved at that particular location. Like wise you can make other folders for each file type you want to.

Automatic Save Folder is currently an experimental add-on, this means you need to have an account to download this add-on.

If you love to listen to music while surfing the internet FoxyTunes can help. An internet browser integration that plays your MP3′s from your browser window!

FoxyTunes is an Extension for Firefox that supports the Mozilla Suite and Mozilla Thunderbird. It allows you to control your favorite media player without leaving the browser. The controls are positioned on the status bar or one of the toolbars, so no extra space is wasted.

FoxyTunes has several nice features. You can control the playback, adjust the volume, and see what’s playing. Many more features are in development, among them advanced music-related searches. Foxytunes is currently owned by Yahoo!

Not only can you add all sorts of skins, but you can also associate with any of the most popular media player, including online services like Last.FM, Pandora or Rhapsody Online. You can set FoxyTunes where ever you want inside your browser.

This is just a quick post for all those torrent freaks out there. Yesterday we stumbled upon a few Firefox extensions that we would like to share with you.

The first extension is called the Torrent Finder; which is basically a toolbar on Firefox; the other one is called TorrentBar and next up is Firetorrent. We will discuss each one briefly.

Torrent Finder Toolbar

Torrent Finder Toolbar is a torrent search toolbar for Firefox, which enables users to search over 180 top torrent sites and trackers from their Firefox browser.

It allows users to search a single site, search all sites on one page, or open the sites in Firefox tabs. A lot of accessible tools have been added to the Toolbar to make it easy to find your torrent like ‘keyword highlighter‘, ‘select toggle‘ to toggle between search engines by category, and ‘toggle by first letter‘ to easily find the search engine you need.

TorrentBar

BitTorrent File Search Toolbar for Firefox. Allows to search numerous sites in a matter of minutes for needed torrent files. If you prefer to be anonymous and use software done by users instead of 3rd party companies that spy on you and log your search habits, then this toolbar is perfect for you.

Firetorrent

This Firefox extension lets you download BitTorrent files with a single click. Version 1.0 has been built from scratch and is based on the popular libtorrent library, resulting in amazing performance. The addon is currently in alpha testing but is fully functional.

Which Firefox add-on for Torrents have you tried or like the most? Share your views in the comment section below.
