While browsing through the web, you have stumbled upon something informative and worth sharing, for instance an eye-catching image/picture, which you are eager to share with your friends and family. For this purpose what you would normally do is that you will copy the URL and send it via email or through instant messenger, in case its an article. For a picture, you will capture the screen shot and will send it to your friends mailbox.

This is a manual and pains taking process as you’ll need to log in to an email account or messenger and will have to switch between the website and mail box to collect the information. SimplyBox can help you do this while you are still doing the browsing.

To enjoy the features of Simplybox, first you’ll have to sign up for an account and install the toolbar. The Simplybox toolbar will appear on your browser with ‘Box and Save‘ and ‘Box and Send‘ buttons. With click of ‘Box and Save‘ button, you can start capturing the information, and can save it for later viewing and sharing. Then with the help of your mouse, highlight any portion of the web page.

Once the image capturing process is complete, you can drag the image to the box which will be appearing at the bottom and save it. You can get to the box and add your comments, save the images on local drive, get its hard-copy print, or create a URL to share the whole box with your friends.

However, if you want to send the web contents directly, without saving, then you can choose ‘Box and Send‘. Once you have highlighted the desired web page contents, a window will pop up for the recipients email address. With a click on ‘Send Message‘ button, the web-page contents will be folder to respective email addresses.

TubePopper – Add Speech Bubbles & Subtitles to YouTube Videos

When ever it comes to watching free videos online, the only name that comes to your mind is YouTube. YouTube over the years has become one of the most popular platform for watching videos online.

The reason why I am mentioning this is that yesterday, I stumbled across a very interesting website named TubePopper a free web service, that lets you create cartoons of YouTube videos. What I meant was that you can add speech bubbles, text bubbles, subtitles just to make them look funny and interesting.

These features are different than YouTube annotations because these cartoon bubbles are more stylish unless you are running or moving a lot in your YouTube videos and then the comic book bubble would be difficult to make because of all the jerky movements on camera.

Here is an example of a YouTube video that has been edited by adding speech bubbles to it.

If you are interested in creating a cartoon video yourself, you’ll need to sign-up for an account first and then look for any video that you want to cartoonize and click Pop that video.

Once you have signed for the account and logged in, you can do anything you like with the video; customize the font color, background color, transparency, font size, and position.

The only problem with twitter is that it limits you to 140 characters. What if you want to share more with your friends on Twitter? Until now it was impossible to write long sentences, but TinyPaste changes this.

All you have to do is to jump to TinyPaste, write anything that you would like to share, for instance your days work, your assignments, projects etc. Hit the “submit” button. How many times have your site been down due to excessive load upon your server? Have you ever noticed at what time your site goes down? You will find dozens of services that offers you paid or free alerts about the up-time and downtime of your site. However, most of these free sites are unable to notify you at the exact time your site goes down.

There are many tools that enables you to keep track of your time, for instance; TimeTracker, but most off them needs to be installed or executed before they can run. What if you are in your office or anywhere else? Here’s a very useful web-based online time tracker, shared by LifeHacker this morning.

E.gg Timer is a simple to use timer that can be accessed from any where. No worries if you don’t have it on your computer you are using or you forgot to bring your portable timer with you. It quick and and dead simple.

Simply enter the time in plain English next to the URL of E.gg and it will start ticking. Simple! Isn’t it? You can use any combination of years, months, days, hours, minutes and seconds you want.
