How To Change Your Printer’s Status to Online in Mac

If you are using a Mac laptop, this is how to go about it. First, you need to open the System Preference setting. You will find this icon in the Dock. Once this window opens, you should go to the Print and Fax option. Click here. A window will open up now and here, you will be able to select the printer that you want to switch to the left side. Select what printer it is you want to switch so you can move on to the next step. Once selected, click the Open Print Queue button. Click Resume Printer. This option will be visible on the top of the window. Clicking this option adjusts the state to online.

How To Change Your Printer’s Status to Online in Windows

The process is a little different on a Windows platform laptop. Click the Start icon and follow that up by the Printers and Faxes button. This will lead you to a new window where you will be presented with a list of printers that are set up at that very moment. Double click on the one that you want to continue to work with. Double clicking on a printer will bring up a pop-up screen providing you with all the details of a job that is queued by your printer. Go to the printer menu that will be on the top of the window and un-check the option that says “Use Printer Offline”. Checking this option will change the status.
