30 Keyboard shortcuts for Windows
Due to its friendly interface, Microsoft Windows is one of the widely used OS around the world. Here is a list of not all but some of the Keyboard shortcuts used in Windows.
- CTRL+RIGHT ARROW (Move the insertion point to the beginning of the next word)
- CTRL+UP ARROW (Move the insertion point to the beginning of the previous paragraph)
- CTRL+A (Select all)
- ALT+ENTER (View properties for the selected item)
- ALT+SPACEBAR (Open the shortcut menu for the active window)
- ALT+Underlined letter in a menu name (Display’s corresponding menu)
- SHIFT+F10 (Display’s shortcut menu for the selected item)
- F5 key (Update active window)
- F3 key (Search for a file or a folder)
- SHIFT when you insert a CD-ROM into the CD-ROM drive (Prevent CD-ROM from automatically playing)
Dialog Box Keyboard Shortcut
- SHIFT+TAB (Move backward through the options)
- Arrow keys (Select a button if the active option is a group of option buttons)
- NUM LOCK+Minus sign (-) (Collapse the selected folder)
- Windows Logo+M (Minimize all of the windows)
Natural Keyboard Shortcuts
- Windows Logo (Hide or display the Start menu)
- Windows Logo+R (Open the Run dialog box)
- Windows Logo+E (Open My Computer)
- DOWN ARROW (Move down one row)
- Left ALT+left SHIFT+NUM LOCK (Switch the Mouse keys either on or off)
- Right SHIFT for eight seconds (Switch Filter keys either on or off)
- NUM LOCK+Plus sign (+) (Display the contents of the selected folder)
- CTRL+M (Add/remove a console item)
- F2 key (Rename the selected item)
- CTRL+F10 (Maximize the active console window)
- ALT+SPACEBAR (Display the MMC window menu)
- CTRL+M (Add/remove a console item)
- ALT+Minus sign (-) (Display window menu for active console window)
- ALT+ENTER (Display Properties dialog box)
- ALT+DELETE (Display the Windows menu)
- ALT+INSERT (Cycle through the programs in most recently used order)
