Just like Recuva, Disk Digger is a useful application that can help you retrieve your important documents or files, lost accidentally. The types of files which Disk Digger can recover, includes photos, videos, music, documents and many other file formats. Disk Digger will scan through all your hard disk drive sectors or any media drives and will attempt to recover any of the lost files.
All you have to do is to download the file, provided at the end of this post and then simple execute the utility, no installation required to scan the available drives for lost files. You can even narrow down your search by selecting the file type, i.e. either photos/images, documents or audio/video files.

The scanning will take some time to complete as it will read every sector of the media. You can preview most of the files found within the utility without saving them. You can even preview while Disk Digger is continuing with its scanning process. Additional features includes, support for more file formats, more configuration options, etc.
The only draw back with Disk Digger is that not only it scans deleted files but all the files in the hard drive. This can take a substantial amount of time, especially for large hard drives.
