There are so many different applications that you can get from the internet that will help you to download videos from websites. You also have different software as well to help you in this process but this method is a lot more tiresome as compared to the former. But now there is no need worry because the MediaConverter is here to help you. This extension for Mozilla Firefox allows you to download videos from YouTube and other video-sharing websites, and convert them into any format that you like, all from within your browser. Neat, isn’t it? Below, we will explain to you how you can go about this process of formatting videos.

After you have downloaded the add-on, it will show up on the side of the address bar, like seen below. It will be between the Google Search Bar and the Address Bar, so you will not find it hard to see.

As you visit a website from which the Media Converter is able to download a video, it will turn blue. If not, the icon will stay a grey color, which can be seen in the image below.

When you click on the icon, when it is blue of course, you will be presented with a pop-up dialogue box. This pop-up will ask you what format you want to convert the format into as well as the name you want to give. The screenshot below shows what this pop-up will look like.

You have now specified the format of the file as well as the name of the file. Next, you have to set up the options for its audio and video conversions as well. This is only for advanced users. If you are unclear what to do at this stage, you can always ignore it.

We will assume you have made your changes. You are now ready for the next step. Clicking Next Step and the download and conversion process will start automatically. The following screen will be presented on to your display.

The conversion will take some time, so just be patient. Once the process is complete, enjoy your movie. You can see where the download has been saved by going to Tools and follow it up by selecting Options. There is no only drawback of this add-on and that is its lengthy conversion time.
