Take a look back at Google in January 2001

While celebrating its 10th Birthday, Google has provided a unique opportunity to its users to step back in time and search the web as it appeared in January 2001.

Google has brought back its old Google design layout, which not only brings back good memories of the internet as it appeared years ago, but also lets user search around 1,326,920,000 web pages, as index in 2001.

This means that users can search through old archives of Google. It is quite interesting to note that technology sites like engadget and crunchgear etc never existed at that time.

Unfortunately, the time for this old archive is only 30 days, after that it will be removed. Although, the index pages are not 100% accurate, but still provides nice approximation.

Below is a direct link to the old archives page:

PS: Also take a look at Websites as they appeared 10 years ago compared with that of today.
